Concerning Recent Events
Although we have made it our goal to keep our focus on patient care in the wake of the ongoing legal battle between Zeid WHC, some of our former employees and Special Health Resources of Texas, we feel that remaining silent in the face of the negative social media and online commentary is unfair to our employees and patients.
The truth of the matter is that there was a conspiracy between ZWHC mid-levels and the SHRT CEO, who is no longer with the organization (feel free to look into why that is), to walk out on ZWHC without the required 90 days’ notice and take as much of the practice as possible over to SHRT. The contractual violations, including the very standard non-compete, are numerous and have been upheld up in court. All of the filings are a matter of public record for anyone interested in the details.
As an organization truly dedicated to caring for women for the past 20+ years, we understand and sympathize with the patients who were affected by this, but these practitioners who had no qualms walking out on all the women at ZWHC who they were scheduled to see and/or deliver are now using their commitment to their patients as their platform.
They have repeatedly (and ironically) called Dr. Zeid greedy, while citing better pay and benefits as reasons for leaving the practice. It is certainly their right to look for better positions, but not in violation of their contracts and with no need to purposely damage our practice.
As far as the hardship of a 20-plus-mile commute in East Texas, they would simply be joining the tens of thousands of people around here who do it daily–and for less money in most cases.
The nearly 100 remaining employees at Zeid WHC have, for the most part, silently watched as these women spread falsehoods and personal attacks on social media. Selfishly, and because they didn’t get their way, these women seem to have made it their mission to bring ZWHC down, regardless of the truth or the other people who may be hurt.
It is our belief that Dr. Zeid (and ZWHC) has been unfairly vilified for enforcing contracts, defending our practice and doing all we can to protect the livelihoods of our employees in the wake of the damage caused by this debacle. We are thankful to work for an organization that will do that.
